What in the world is a Hydrogen Fuel Cell?
Hydrogen atoms enter a fuel cell at the anode where a chemical reaction strips them of their electrons. The hydrogen atoms are now "ionized," and carry a positive electrical charge. The negatively charged electrons provide the current through wires to do work. If alternating current (AC) is needed, the DC output of the fuel cell must be routed through a conversion device called an inverter.

This project helped understand the different methods that the world uses to capture and attain energy. For instance I now know why we don't use hydrogen fuel cells, because we haven't found an easier way to use it without using an extraordinary amount of hydrogen and oxygen. Solar energy has the same problem we haven't found an easier way to capture the sun's energy and it's also very expensive. So the project was interesting in the sense that we got to experience Hydrogen/Solar powered vex machines first hand.
