My Reflection:
Honestly, our practice presentation was an utter failure. That was mainly attributed to us not having the mill finished in time. Our final presentation was a million percent better and i'm very pleased with how it turned out. Ian is happy, the judges were interested, Mrs. Zienty seems happy with our performance, and I'm happy. At the end of the day I worked really hard to get to the point that i could present my project and i can honestly say I tried my hardest to do the best i possibly could, and that is one of the best feelings in the world. I am super thankful to have the help of my friend Mr. Charlie on this project and also feel extremely fortunate to go to a school where teachers are so willing to help random student s they have never met before. It is a really solid community here at Worcester tech and i'm thabkful for all of the people who helped me complete this project!
Ian's Reflection:
This was probably my favorite year of engineering. The reason for that is freedom. We basically had 5 months to create whatever we want, and kind of on our pace. Yes Jeremy and I struggled to even come close to deadlines, but were grateful that the weeblys aren't due the week they say they are, as they are used for where we SHOULD be by that date. Every other engineering class felt the same in a way. You learn some stuff, get a project, finish it within the time constraint, and do a weebly. I feel those 4 things repeated in the rest of the engineering classrooms, but not this class. The best part about this project was Jeremy and I's growth from the dry run presentation to the actual presentation. It was very satisfying to see our product completely working and our power-point done. While it may not have seemed like it, engineering was one of my favorite classes over the 4 years of high-school and I want to just take the time to say thank you, Mrs. Zienty for the opportunity. The only recommendation I have for this class is maybe give the spring students even more time.
