Potential Market:
A survey conducted by National Family Opinion on behalf of wood magazine found that approximately 5.5 million Americans participate in woodworking as a hobby according to www.targetmarketingmag.com. Also the bureau of labor statistics states that in 2016, there were over 250,000 woodworking jobs in the United States. According to our survey (as of March 19th), 82.4% of people said that something should be changed or innovated on a chainsaw mill, while 17.6% said they are fine as they stand. This gives us a pretty wide market to work with seeing that people would buy a chainsaw mill with the improvements they identified.

Reflection:
Since I do a combination of woodworking, saw milling, and tree removal as a hobby that makes a little money for me too, I have become aware of products on the market for these hobbies. I just googled the products above and listed the information I already knew as well as some things from the websites. From all of the products listed above, I learned there is a cross between professional users and hobbyists using the same products. When I design and build my mill I need to make it able to withstand professional use, while keeping the cost down so its available to hobbyists also.
